Well now that The mods mistakenly gave me authorship privileges I figured I would introduce myself. I’m Colin, I break things.

I’m an engineer, questionable mechanic, and a decent fabricator, and superior jury rigger. I always have way to many projects than time.

I am an active sponsor for a local Mazda club, and I will always help out a fellow car guy, usually with removing a crash guard off a Mazda 6 (seriously I have a whole post on Mazdas).

Looks like a hell of a project. Any reason why you didn’t put a full floor in? Between the rust, fiberglass, and pop riveted patches it looks like a good candidate. The Dynacorn stuff fits pretty decent and you can save a ton of repair time.

Those weren’t pop riveted, Sheet rock screws through Lead flashing. And 90% of the floor is darn solid, it was just certain spots.

Lol true, his FC does keep having issues though so there is that. I’ve kinda fallen out of touch with the local Mazda guys here in Houston, but since the Miata is nearly driveable again that’ll probably change.
